It's Chocolate Week at the moment in the UK. Events are continuing across the country until Sunday and London has a fair share of them. There have been tastings, practical lessons in chocolate making and award ceremony and even a chocolate themed dinner and burlesque night at Club Volupte.
I've resisted writing about Chocolate Week until now because really I was hoping to bring you a couple of reports and photos from actual events. Sadly things just haven't panned out as planned though. This is partly because, astonishingly, many of my friends are just not that keen on chocolate . . . some of them actively dislike it. Most of the women I've ever been out with have also been chocolate-abstainers . . . terrible . . . When do I get to use my armoury of chocolate knowledge?
So, what's left of Chocolate Week now? Hmmmm . . .
There's a practical demonstration at Demarquette in Chelsea tomorrow afternoon. There's also a Malagasy sampling at the Chocolate Society. I'll try and get to one or both of these.
As a parting note: if you can, try a mint chocolate from La Maison du Chocolat. They make these using fresh mint and the complex taste just goes on and on and on. Delicious.
