Like many others, I have no doubt, I heard back from El Bulli last week. Reservations for the entire six months the restaurant is open are massively oversubscribed and easily filled within two or three weeks of opening the diary in mid-October. This year's tactic (admittedly my first stab) was a table for six at absolutely any time on absolutely any date. Be interesting to know if specifying a particular date is a help or a hindrance.
Anyway, for future reference, here's what to expect next year. Hope their cooking is better than their English (before you ask: far better than my Spanish).
Apreciados Señores,
We regret not to be able to full fill more reservation requests. Our limited capacity has been surpassed at the first moment due the extraordinary demand. We apologize to you.
It is impossible for us to have a waiting list but we will be at your disposal to revise if cancellations are produced when we confirm all the reservations a week in advance.
E-mail: bulli@elbulli.com Fax: +34 972 15 07 17 Tel. +34 972 15 04 57 – (during the season, after 3.00 p.m.)
Thank you for all your interest.
Atentamente,
Luis García
Ah, that familiar email. Should just say that Luis García is a lovely bloke, but then again I've been there.
